Pour ce premier article sur les voyages, j’ai voulu vous faire partager notre trek à Sapa en compagnie des Sapa Sisters, l’un de nos plus beaux souvenirs.
Nous sommes partis 3 semaines en août en sac à dos pour découvrir le Vietnam et le Cambodge (malgré les « vous êtes sûrs pour le climat ? car en août c’est la mousson…»). Nous n’avons pas été chanceux pour nos bagages car Aéroflot a perdu nos sac à dos…(avec nos affaires pour le trek !) en revanche la météo était parfaite !
Je trouve que Sapa constitue un excellent point de départ si vous démarrez votre voyage à Hanoi car le dépaysement est garanti ! Vous pouvez rejoindre Sapa en train de nuit, ils sont confortables et plus sûrs que les bus.
A cette période, mi-août, le riz n’a pas encore été récolté et les rizières sont d’un vert éclatant. Quel bonheur pour les yeux ! Alors oui il faisait très chaud…mais nous avons eu la chance de pouvoir nous rafraichir sur le chemin en nous baignant dans une rivière (pour moi c’était en boxer homme + tshirt…eh oui toujours pas de sac à dos !).
Après quelques heures de marche, nous avons passé la nuit chez l’habitant. C’était une très belle expérience, nous avons proposé notre aide pour cuisiner, ils paraissaient surpris mais ravis et nous avons pu ainsi partager un moment du quotidien en leur compagnie.
Pour ce trek, je voulais vivre une expérience authentique, en petit comité avec des locaux. Ce qui m’a plu c’est aussi le fait que ce soit des femmes Hmong (une des ethnies du nord du Vietnam) à la tête de cette initiative, qui sont fières de pouvoir assurer à leurs guides un salaire juste tout en faisant découvrir la beauté de leur région.
Je vous recommande donc chaudement ce trek avec les Sapa Sisters. Elles parlent anglais et sont très flexibles.

SAPA, unforgettable trek with the Sapa Sisters
For that first post about travels, I wanted to share with you our trek in Sapa thanks to the Sapa Sisters company, one of our best memories.
We travelled 3 weeks in August with our backpacks to Vietnam and Cambodia (in spite of the « Are you sure about the climate there, it’s the monsoon season ? » haha). We were not lucky with our luggage seeing that Aeroflot lost them…(with our trek equipment !), however the weather was just perfect !
I think that Sapa is a great start if you land in Hanoi since the change of scenery is guaranteed ! You can go to Sapa with the night train, they are confortable and safer than the buses.
A that time, mid-august, the rice is not yet harvested and the rice fields are in a bright green ; a delight to the eyes ! Then yes it is very hot…but we had the chance to refresh us bathing in the river (for me it was man boxer + tshirt…yeah still no backpack !).
The night with local people was an enriching experience, we proposed our help to prepare the dinner, they were delighted and we had the opportunity to share a moment of their daily routine.
For that trek, I wanted to live an authentic experience, in a small group with local people. What I really appreciated is also that Sapa Sisters is owned by Hmong women (one of the numerous ethnic groups in the north of Vietnam), who are proud to ensure a fair salary to their guides making us discover the beauty of their region.
I warmly recommend you that trek with the Sapa Sisters. They speak fluently English and are very flexible.
